Mid-Western Regional Council wins prestigious Local Government Management Challenge
A team of young emerging leaders from Mid-Western Regional Council in NSW has taken out the prestigious LGMA Australasian Management Challenge.
The challenge held last Friday saw state winning teams from all over Australia together with a team from New Zealand, compete to demonstrate their skills in team dynamics, negotiation, communication and leadership.
Local Government Managers Australia National President, Mr. Neil Hartley congratulated all teams competing in the challenge held at the Albert Park Sebel Hotel. “The teams competing in this challenge, now in its 17th year, demonstrated a very high level of skill and a fabulous capacity to work together to meet the tasks assigned to them. All seven teams are winners of their respective state and the New Zealand regional challenges, and it is great to see them all do so well at the Australasian Challenge.” Mr. Hartley said.
“Whilst the Australasian final was very highly contested with very few points differentiating the teams, the Mid-Western Regional Council team really did themselves proud with a near perfect score.” He added.
Mid-Western Regional Council was followed closely by the Town of Kwinana Council from WA in second place and the Mornington Peninsula Shire Council from Victoria taking out third place.
Other teams competing in the Australasian final were Auckland City Council from NZ, Devonport City Council from Tasmania, City of Playford from SA, and Townsville City Council from QLD.
