2010 LGMA National Congress & Business Expo welcome reception launch

2010 LOCAL GOVERNMENT MANAGERS AUSTRALIA (LGMA) NATIONAL CONGRESS AND BUSINESS EXPO – WELCOME RECEPTION LAUNCH
ADELAIDE’s Lord Mayor Michael Harbison will officially welcome over 200 overseas and interstate delegates to the LGMA National Congress and Business Expo at the Adelaide Convention Centre THIS Sunday, 16 May 2010.
The welcome reception will run from 6.00pm – 8.00pm and will kick-start the MAJOR annual national local government congress that will run from Sunday 16 May to Wednesday 19 May.
The theme for the congress is Re-Generation: New beginnings. It will explore how local governments can assist their communities prepare for, respond to and recover from extreme financial and climatic events.
The four-day event will present a jam-packed program of keynote addresses, panel sessions and workshops. It will be head-lined by leading US recovery expert, Professor Daniel Alesch, Victorian Bushfire Reconstruction and Recovery Authority chair, Christine Nixon, World Vision Australia Chief Executive, Reverend Tim Costello AO and former Australian Democrats leader and Labour MP, Cheryl Kernot.
All media are strongly encouraged to attend the welcome reception launch as a preview to the LGMA National Congress & Business Expo.
LGMA National President Neil Hartley (CEO, City of Kwinana, WA) and Chief Executive Officer, John Ravlic will be available for interviews.
Strong social photo opportunities will also be presented on the evening.
